Kevin Mccomas BM3 United States Navy. 1989-1993. Stationed in Pearl Harbor Hawaii Assigned to the USS Arizona Memorial Boats, then assigned to the U.S.S. Fletcher DD992 Destry-ER. McComas photo was the centerfold in Newsweek for the 50th Anniversary of the Bombing of Pearl Harbor. One of his jobs, other, than taking tourists to the memorial was to raise the flag on the memorial every morning and lower it every evening.

Mark Morgan served the US Navy from Feb 17, 1989 – Feb 17, 1993 on board the USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71). This picture was taken when he was the rank of ABHAN when he was discharged in 1993 I was the rank of ABH3. Morgan also served in Desert Storm from Jan 15 1991 – Feb 28 1991. Received the Joint Meritorious Unit Commendation, Navy unit Commendation, Battle “E” Award, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, National Defense service medal, Southwest Asia service medal with two Bronze Stars and the Kuwait Liberation medal. Then I served in the Naval Reserve from Feb 17, 1993 – Feb 17, 1997.

Sgt John Middlebrook Jr. U.S. Army, served four years, Viet Nam vet, ended service at Fort Leonardwood, Mo., April 1971. John lived in the Hardy, area prior to his death in 2012 in West Plains, Mo.

First Sergeant William C. Forrest, is currently active in The United States Army with 17 years of service. He served 3 tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) conflict and one tour in Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) in Afghanistan. He is currently stationed in Germany, pending his retirement in a couple years. He was a resident of Ash Flat & Hardy area. He is the son of Donna Smith and grandson of Jack and Bernece Smith.
Jack E. Smith, served during the Korean war era within The United States Air Force. He was a tower operator navigating air traffic and later retired from FAA. He is a long time resident of Hardy.
Dan Bowers, Marine Corp, fought in Vietnam and was severely injured. He was “missing” while recovering on a hospital ship. He was told he would never walk again but he wouldn’t take that as a finality and once he was able to walk again he went back to Vietnam. He currently resides in Pocahontas and is 70 years old.
Jack Huffmaster Sr., Air Force veteran with 20 years of service. He resided in Hardy with his beautiful wife, Wanda Huffmaster. He did two tours of duty in Vietnam.
Alan Scott Frost served for over 20 years. He began his military career in the Navy on nuclear submarines. He served for 4 1/2 years. Then, he got out of the Navy and into National Guard where he served for an additional 16 years, including several months in Saudi Arabia during Operation Desert Storm. He currently resides near Mountain Home, and he previously lived at Williford.
