According to a press release, the Arkansas State Police are investigating the death of a Salem man whose body was found in Hoxie on Tue. The Highland Senior Band earned the title of 4A State Honor Ensemble at the 2026 Arkansas School Band and Orchestra State Concert Contest. There were 18 bands competing in Class 4A. Highland had the top score,  making them the state champion concert band.
