Mammoth Spring students recently brought home some hardware from the National FCCLA Competition. Payton Tucker won Silver at Nationals in Chapter Review Display and Kadence Guernsey, Brynn Washam and Lauren Skaggs also won silver at Nationals in Entrepreneurship.
Highland High School had two groups of students compete on a national level in their organizations. A group from Future Business Leaders of America including Taci Humphries, Emily Jines, and Dani Jordan travelled to Chicago to compete. FBLA is sponsored by Katrina Farris and Blake Medlock.
Future Health Professionals, sponsored by Casey York, travelled to Nashville to compete. This group includes Matthew Harper, Allison Webber, Alahna Sampson, and Bailey Nicholson.
The Highland Show Team competed with their livestock at the Sharp County Fair recently. Collectively, the team brought home four Overall Champions, seven Reserve Overall Champions, seven - Grand Champions, two Reserve Champions, and seven Showmanship wins.
A fun time was had by all at the Cherokee Village Elementary School Kindergarten Meet and Greet July 12. Incoming kindergartners met their teachers, made new friends while enjoying the bounce house, and had popcorn and popsicles. Anyone who hasn’t registered their child for the 22-23 kindergarten school year may stop by the central office Monday through Friday to get signed up. The first day of school for kindergarten is August 17.
