Obituary – Helen Virginia Tedford

Helen Virginia Tedford, 89, died on Sept. 4t, 2022 at White River Medical Center in Batesville, Ark.
She was born October 18, 1932 in Elgin, Ill. to Curtis and Vera Piffner. Helen married Arthur Roethlisberger on Sept. 26, 1956 in Aurora, Ill.


They were blessed with three sons- Thomas Roethlisberger of Bryant, Ark, Scott (Belinda) Roethlisberger of Jonesboro, Ark., and Bradley (Lea) Roethlisberger of Rogers, Ark.


Helen, prior to her move to Arkansas in 1974, resided in Barrington, Belvidere and Aurora, Ill. She was a retired bookkeeper/accounting employee locally for many years. In early years of employment, she was a private secretary for Mooseheart Supreme Lodge in Illinois, and service manager for a major grocery chain. During years of retirement, she was an avid golfer and loved line dancing.


She was a faithful member of both the Cherokee Village and Hardy United Methodist Churches, also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, past treasurer of the Cherokee Village Business Association, 9-Hole Golf Association, TOPS AR 239, Cherokee Village Line Dancers, and throughout the years, tried to be involved in varied community organizations.


Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Arthur Roethlisberger and Robert Tedford, and sister Patsy Crowell of Iowa.


She is survived by her three sons and her sister Marjorie Granquist of St. Charles, Ill. Also surviving are granddaughters Tenee Ramsey of Jonesboro, Ark., and Kaylea Roethlisberger of Searcy, Ark, and Tammy and Terri, step-children of late husband Robert in Illinois. She leaves her precious great-grandchildren Rylan, Radlea, and Rubiegh Ramsey of Jonesboro, Ark., along with many other relatives and good friends.
A memorial service was held on Sept. 18, at the Hardy United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hardy United Methodist Church.
