The Highland Cross Country Boys and Girl’s teams were named District Champions Oct. 26 at the District Meet, held at Jonesboro’s Joe Mack Campbell Park. Besides winning both Championships, Coach Blake Medlock was named Cross Country Coach of the Year, this was less than a year after being diagnosed with esophegeal cancer.
Besides the overall championship, the boys’ All-District Medalists include Parker Wilson (Second place), Cline Himschoot (Fourth place), Austin Wilson (Fifth place), Ocean Schultz (Sixth place) and Brendan Medlock (Eighth place)
Girls’ All-District Medalists were Izy Harmon (First place), Kenlei Wright (Fourth place), Sadie Meyer (Seventh place), Autumn Pickle (Eighth place), Claire Himschoot (Ninth place)
Junior High Medalists included Cenzi Nicholson, Briley Wilson and Zeppelin Schultz.
