Keep Hardy Beautiful citywide cleanup slated, curbside pickup requires scheduling

The Keep Hardy Beautiful Campaign will kick off May 1 and continue through May 5.The City of Hardy is encouraging all residents and area volunteers to pitch in and help keep the City of Hardy beautiful! Area volunteers may meet at Hardy City Hall to pick-up free cleanup sup-plies. A limited number of free tee-shirts will be available on a first come, first serve basis. Gloves, trash bags, recycle bags, and safety vests will all be available for use at no cost to our volunteers. This is funded in partnership with the Keep Arkansas Beautiful movement. All residents wanting curbside removal of household items must call and schedule curbside pick-up by calling Hardy City Hall at 870-856-3811, by Friday April28 at 4 p.m. Your items may not be collected if you do not schedule ahead and notify the Hardy City Hall. On your normal Hardy Trash Service Pickup Day, you may place the following eligible items on the curbside for removal:

•Stove and micro-wave appliances

•Sinks and tubs

•Old above ground pools

•Lawn furniture, swings

•Large children’s toys

•Artificial Christmas Trees

•Eligible bulky waste (sofas, chairs, mattresses, couches, entertainment centers, and box springs)

•Other items that make sense for a normal spring pickup. If in doubt, call City Hall. The following items are NOT eligible:

•NO items that used Freon (even if Freon was removed)

• tires of any kind

• paint, (unless lids are taken off and the paint is completely dried out)

• stains, varnish, thinner, automotive oil, oil filters, or automotive fluids

•medical waste or syringes

•explosives, fire-works, gasoline, pro-pane cylinders, or fluorescent lights

•construction debris

•ashes or coals

•leaves, branches, grass clippings, or trees

• dead animals

• commercial debris

• shingles, flooring tiles, wood, carpeting, etc.

•drywall or scrap metal

• air conditioners

• TVs

• washer or dryers

•refrigerators

• E-waste (contact Tri-County Recycling Center (870-994-3020)
