From Court and police documents
A Cave City coach and teacher found himself behind bars in neighboring Independence County on March 27 after threatening to kill his ex-wife following a dispute about visitation.
Court documents show that on March 27, Dillon Sallas, 31, was ordered to pay $1,194 a month in child support after his divorce was finalized the same day and custody arrangments were made.
Police were called to his ex-wife’s workplace after she called emergency dispatch that morning advising them that her ex-husband was making threats to shoot her.
The call came after Dillon texted his ex-wife asking if he would get visitation with the couple’s three children on the weekend. She advised him that he would not be getting the children that weekend due to him making several suicidal threats as well as threatening to shoot other people during the week. He then texted her, saying, “You’ll see me later today. You got exactly what you got coming.”
After these messages, Dillon’s mother called her at work and told her ex daughter-in-law to remain inside and lock the doors after her son allegedly told her he was coming to shoot her. His mother also told police she had received a message stating her son was going to kill his ex-wife. Dillon then called his ex’s phone while she was working and left a voice mail stating “There’s consequences to your actions too, [Expletivive] see you later.”
Hospital security was called to the medical office where Dillon’s ex is employed and stood by as theyshut the office down after the last patient left the facility.
Court records show she filed for divorce last June and since, Dillon has threatened suicide and has had weapons removed from his home and person. The divorce and child support agreement were finalized on March 27 by Third Judicial District Circuit Court by Judge Michelle Huff.
As a part of the divorce decree and mutual agreement of both parties, Sallas agreed to attend weekly in- person counseling sessions. The decree also ordered that Dillon Sallas “must cease harassment of his wife (now ex) via communications. Said communications should be solely about the children or home until its sale. They should not be overly early or late and only be of such nature as to convey and/or receive the necessary information about the children. Should harassing communications or blowups continue, visitation will revert to wife’s (now ex) reasonable discretion.”
Sallas was charged with Terroristic Threatening, a Class D Felony of by Sixteenth Judicial District Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Drew Smith in Independence County.
Sallas was arrested and booked into the Independence County Detention Center yesterday afternoon and was released upon payment of a $2500 professional bond about 30 minutes later.
Sallas teaches middle school Social Studies at Cave City and also coaches summer ball and is the Cave City assistant football coach and also works with the Cave City Pee Wee Program.
