Tammy Curtis, Managing Editor

I realize the amount of incoming weather news is a bit overwhelming at this time. In our coverage area, rivers are our biggest concern regarding flooding. We have some some links with up-to-the-hour river stages and live streams from three separate weather services to accomodate all of our followers.

Save this post and refer back to it during the torrential rains, making their way into our area.

I am attempting to post all relevant links in one post for easier access to vital information. I will also post the link to the KY3 Weather live feed, which many of our followers rely on as well as KAIT-8 and KARK, so you can pick the one that you typically use. Please have cell phones charged and watch these live streams as these storms are already producing tornado warnings in Baxter County and they came along very quickly.

I realize that almost everyone has smartphones and apps, and likely television. Still, as fast as things change, we feel this “one-stop” link to vital weather information might be helpful rather than forcing everyone to navigate multiple sites during a stressful time. If you do not have a weather app on your phone, with alerts on, this would be a good time to get that. If not, the information may be redundant; we get that, but it is worth it if it saves one person who doesn’t have access to anything but a phone from getting hurt. Be safe, everyone! It will be both on our website and Facebook page.

Feel free to submit photos of your weather in the comments. We won’t be adding updates unless they are serious because it is often confusing if one sees a post from 30 minutes earlier that has either worsened or is no longer active when they access it.

The links below are all live and the river stages regularly update.  We area also providing a link to the local Skywarn/SAR page- Dave Gruger and his crew will be updating it through the night with micro local weather news. If you are a group, the page settings don’t allow you to join this page, please use your individual FB to join and follow. This is a great group who have worked very hard on certifications to allow them to help this area during weather related and Search and Rescue situations.
