Wee Miss Be The Sunshine, Jaclyn Newlon donated $1065 to the New Beginnings Pregnancy Center in Ash Flat recently.
After becoming queen of her division at the most recent Be The Sunshine Pageant in Hardy, she, along with her parents wanted to find ways for their families to give back to the community that they live in. Pageantry has opened doors of opportunity for this local family and they wanted to find a way to bless others. In June 2022, shortly after the pageant in Hardy, Jaclyns mom Rebecca held a Red White and Blue pageant to raise funds for the pregnancy center.
“I feel like giving back is such a community effort. We couldn’t do this alone” says Rebecca. “We had 33 contestants in this pageant and all of the proceeds benefited the center. I am thankful for the judges, the contestants and their parents, the volunteers and especially my family who made it all come together in a short time frame. We hope the funds will bless the mothers who need the assistance, the people there are truly the hands and feet of Jesus.”
Jaclyn hopes to continue using pageantry as a positive way to impact the community alongside her mother.
