Oct. 28 EVENTS

Spooktacular- Mammoth Spring

Activities include a chili cook-off that begins at 2 until 4 p.m. on Oct. 28. Games will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. The costumer contest gets underway at 5:30 p.m. with a pumpkin carving contest set for 7 p.m. Contestants are asked to bring their pre-carved pumpkins, all pumpkins must be carved, not painted. Tealights will be provided. The winner will receive a $100 gift certificate to Goodman’s Back to Eden. There will also be a hay ride and bounce houses for the kids. The event is sponsored by the Mammoth Spring Chamber of Commerce. The event will be held downtown Mammoth Spring with pumpkin carving contest at Simmon’s Bank.

Citywide Trick or Treating- Downtown Hardy
The City of Hardy will host citywide trick or treating on Oct. 28 from 4 – 9 p.m.

Fall Festival- Ozark Acres

Community Fall Festival will be held Oct. 28 at the Ozark Acres Fire Department. 
There will be crafts for kids, a haunted firehouse, car, tractor and bike show and a silent auction to raise funs for youth activity area at the fire house. A costume contest and trunk or treat will get underway at 6 p.m. with a hay rack ride to follow at 7 p.m. The festival will also have chili, baked goodies and beverages. It will be held at the Ozark Acres Fire Department. 

Boo Fest- Cherokee Village United Methodist Church-

There will be games, prizes and food and a bounce house for the kids on Oct. 28. The event will be held from 3 -5:30 p.m. Oct. 28 at the church located at 21 Otter Drive in Cherokee Village. 

Trunk or Treat- Crossroads Baptist Church- Ash Flat

The trunk or treat will be held from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. There will also be a hay ride, train ride and games.

Sloan Hendrix Trunk or Treat – School Circle- Imboden

The public is invited to attend. There will be games, bounce houses and a trunk or treat, beginning at 6 p.m. Rain date Oct. 29.

Crown Lake RV Resort Trunk or Treat and Trail of Terror-

The Horseshoe Bend Area Chamber of Commerce’s Trunk or Treat is at Crown Lake RV Resort Oct 28. The festivities start with the craft show from 9 a.m. until  till 2 p.m. Trunk or Treat begins at 5 p.m. The Trail of Terror starts at 6 p.m. There will be wagon rides 5 until 7 p.m. The hole in one contest at the mini golf course is from 5 until 6:30 p.m. finishing up with the Forever Young band from 7 until 9 p.m.

Trunk or Treat Cruise-In, Diamond Be Mall, Horseshoe Bend

The event will feature candy, games, and a photo booth, as well as a car show. There will also be free hot dogs and arcade games. Be sure to bring your quarters. The event kicks off at 6 p.m.

The Masters Bouquet Trunk or Treat and Boo BashBoogie- 

The event will be held on the parking lot behind Wortham Funeral Home and Master’s Bouquet on Oct. 28. The Trunk or Treat event will be from 5 until 7 p.m. A costume contest with prizes will be held at 6:30. Directly following the Trunk or Treat will be Boo Bash Boogie from 7 until 10 p.m. Snacks, hot dogs chips and drinks will be served.

Highland Elks Lodge #2538 Annual Trunk or Treat- Highland

The Highland Elks will host their annual Trunk or Treat. There will be free hot dogs, chips and drinks for kids. The event will be held at the lodge, located at 15 Elks Lane in Cherokee Village on Oct. 28 from 3 until 5 p.m.

Ministerial Alliance Trunk or Treat – Cave City 

The trunk or treat event will be held from 6:30 until  8 p.m. at the Cave City park.

OCT. 31 EVENTS

Camp Methodist Church Trunk or Treat-

The church will host a trunk or treat from 5:30 until 7 p.m. on Oct. 31. 

Ash Flat Fire Department Trunk or Treat-

The event will be held at the Ash Flat Fire Department on Oct. 31 beginning at 5 p.m.

Scheel Family Practice Trunk or Treat-

The Trunk or Treat will be held on Oct. 31 from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Scheel Family Practice.

The Salem Chamber of Commerce Trunk or Treat-

The annual event will be held on the Square Oct. 31 from 6. until 7:30 p.m. Help support the Agape Food room by bringing a non-perishable food item.

The Sharp County Sheriff’s Department Blue Light Block Party- 

The sheriff’s department will have games, candy and photos with deputies on Oct. 31 beginning at 5 p.m. at the Sharp County Sheriff’s Department Parking Lot. The community is invited to bring their children and enjoy the evening meeting staff with the sheriff’s department deputies and Sheriff Shane Russell. 

Cherokee Village Trunk or Treat-

A Trunk or Treat will be held at the Cherokee Village City on Oct.31 from 5 to 8 p.m. Anyone wishing to set up for a group or business to pass out candy, contact City Hall.

Copper Feather Dart League Trunk or Treat –

The event will be held at Town Center on Oct. 31 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Annual Trunk or Treat Trail –

The event will be hosted at the Kozey Country Market in Hardy Oct. 31 beginning at 6 p.m.

First Baptist Church Cherokee Village Trunk or Treat –

Oct. 31.

REGIONAL PUMPKIN PATCHES

Jackson Farms Fall Festival- Black Rock, Ark.

On Oct. 28 the years biggest day at the farm kicks off with the fun 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Pig Races. Cory Jackson takes the stage at noon followed by a magic show by Morley Family Magic at 1 p.m.

A helicopter candy drop will be a crowd pleaser at 2 p.m. with 10,000 pieces of candy falling from the sky. Attendees are invited to wear their costumes Saturday. There will be a fireworks show after dark.

Prices are $17.95 online and $22.95 at the gate. Age 2 and under are free and military free with identification. Senior Citizen Prices $13.95 online and $15.95. Season passes are also available for $35 and $25 for senior citizens. Tickets are good for any day.

Events include a Willy Wonka Corn Maze, Duck Races Cow Train, Hayride, Zipline, Big Slides, Ball Zone, Hoop N’ Holler, Old West Town , Ninja Obstacle Course,Corn Pit Playground, Pig Races, Jumping Pillows,Tire Mountain, Mud Kitchen, Petting Zoo, Farm Swings and Slides as well as tons of pumpkins and mums for sale. Flowers patch flower picking and lots of food and fun with gifts available in the General Store and tons of photo props. The patch is located at 2798 Highway 117 in Black Rock, Ark. and is open weekends 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Saturdays and noon until 7 p.m. on Sundays. McWilliams Pumpkin Patch-West Plains, Mo.

The McWilliams Pumpkin Patch is open through Halloween on Tuesdays through Fridays from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.; Saturdays from 10 a.m until 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. 

On weekends, activities are limited to corn cabin, front giant slide, farm animals, tractor swings, photo ops, jumbo jumper, bird aviary, corn maze, pedal carts, giant rollers and mini carts. Weekday admission is $5.

Weekend admission is $13 also includes train ride, giant tube slides, barrel train ride, youth zip line, mini train ride and open concessions with pony rides and mechanical pumpkin for an additional $5. Children under 2 get in free.

Peebles Farm and Corn Maze-
Augusta, Arkansas

For just $15 with under two getting in free, visitors to the Peebles Farm and Corn Maze can enjoy so many activities. From wagon and train rides to the corn maze and trike course. This year’s 20 acre corn maze is a tribute to Reba McEntire.  There is a great playground and hamster wheel races for the kiddos and adults alike. A pumpkin blaster, barnyard, cotton patch, big slides, zinnia and sunflower fields, you pick pumpkins or take advantage to the many already picked. A busy bee line, bubble station and sand box with lots of toys, and a paintball arcade are always kid favorites. The gorgeous flowers can be picked for a very good price and concessions are available. Pets are welcome for a $5 fee and must be on a leash and non aggressive. Wagons are available for kiddos and pumpkins with admission price. 

Peebles farm is open Wednesday through Fridays with limited activities from 2 to 6 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m. and on Sunday from noon to 7 p.m. Peebles farm was featured on “Take a Road Trip” section in Only in Ark.com, they are also featured as one of the best pumpkin patches in Southern Living magazine. Oct. 29 is the last day for this year’s patch experience. 

Pumpkin Hollow- Piggott, Ark. 

Filled with fun, corn maze, country bumpkin playground, farm animals, friendly forest, gourd trellis, hay ride, kid’s barn, mega slide, pond slide, pony rides, train rides, apple cannons, duck races, corn bin, fall decorations and pumpkins for sale, as well as concessions. At night, Horror in the Hollow begins at 6. Pumpkin Hollow is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. and on Sundays 1 to 6 p.m. Corn maze is also open on Fright Nights when Horror in the Hollow is open and offers a flashlight maze experience. More of a scary Halloween person? While there aren’t many haunted houses in close proximity to Sharp County, there are some within an hour or so, if you don’t mind the drive. 

REGIONAL HAUNTED HOUSES

Horror in the Hollow- Piggott, Ark. 

On the ground of the Pumpkin Hollow day and evening event that on weekend nights becomes Horror in the Hollow. The event Features multiple haunted attractions at one location, including a haunted forest and farmhouse. It is known as “Arkansas’ terrifying haunted attraction. Open through October 28. It is located at 610 County Road 336 in Piggott. Visit Horror in the Hollow at horrorinthehollow.com for pricing. The attractions are open on Friday and Saturday nights from 7 p.m. to ? The first tickets are sold at 6 p.m. and  last tickets are sold at 10 p.m. this Friday and Saturday will be the last time this year to experience this horror.

Chill Factor- Trumann, Ark.

Chill Factor remains northeast Arkansas‘ newest haunted attraction.The lobby is open from 7 p.m. until 11 p.m. They offer two different haunted attractions that can be purchased separately or in a combo pass.  Kids under six are admitted free. Tickets may be purchased online in advance for $15 each attraction or $25 for a combo pass at www.hillfactorhaunt.com/events or at the box office with cash or credit.
