According to a press release, the Arkansas State Police are investigating the death of a Salem man whose body was found in Hoxie on Tue. Aug. 11, 2026, near the Faith Tabernacle Church in Hoxie.
A call came in to the Lawrence County E-11 around 3:15 to the Hoxie Police Department regarding the location of a male body near the church parking lot on Sullens Road in the city.
The body was transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to determine the cause of death.
The Hoxie Police Department requested that the Arkansas State Police assist in the case.
The body was identified as 34-year-old James Frey of Salem.
