Highland hosted their 2025 Winter Royalty on Jan. 31. Representing their classes were: Freshman: Leah Worthington and Piper Kendrick; Sophomores Abby Claxton and Chloe Lewis; Juniors Gale Gerodiano and Josie Sprinkle; and Seniors Dacey Stevens, Destiny Smith and Madie Ross, who was crowned queen.
Each semester, students at Missouri State University who attain academic excellence are named to the dean’s list. For undergraduate students, criteria include enrollment in at least 12 credit hours during the fall semester and at least a 3.50 grade point average on a 4.0 scale. Parker Dillard from Hardy made the list. Dillard was among more than 5,300 students named to the fall 2024 Dean’s List.
The Fulton County Spelling Bee was held in Viola on Jan. 16-17. Contestants from Mammoth Spring, Salem and Viola competed for the top spot. It was an exciting competition between students from fourth through eighth grade, finding the top two spellers.
