Ozarka College is proud to announce that Marcus Orf of Melbourne, Arkansas has been selected as Ozarka’s Employee of the Quarter. Orf is the director of Ozarka’s Carpenter Technical Center in Ash Flat. 

“We are so very proud of the amazing results achieved by Marcus with the Tech Center and establishing and developing our technical programs,” said Dr. Richard Dawe, Ozarka College president. “Marcus has proved to be an outstanding addition to Ozarka and he is very deserving of this award.”

Orf has been instrumental in standing up technical programs at the Carpenter Technical Center in Sharp County as well as helping coordinate the Mountain View welding program expansion in the Stone County community. 

“Marcus’ contribution to the growth of our technical programs cannot be overstated,” said Dr Chris Lorch, Ozarka College provost.  “He has quickly become an indispensable part of the Ozarka team, and with his efforts, combined with the efforts of our faculty, we will continue to create more ways to serve the educational needs of local industries and our communities.

Orf, who is a native of Calico Rock, holds a Bachelor of Education in Agriculture Science from Arkansas State University. After earning his degree, Marcus worked as a high school agriculture teacher for Thayer School District where he promoted technical education and skilled trades as pathways for students after they leave high school. He has earned the Employee of the Quarter recognition for the period of October through December 2021.
