Arts Center October Schedule

• Oct. 8 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Hardy First Baptist Church: Regina Willard’s Acrylic Workshop — This well- known, award-winning artist will teach all skill levels how to build a strong, expressive painting with an underpainting of shapes and lines; and give life to it by adding vivid colors to create a floral of sunflowers. $25 nonrefundable deposit to reserve a seat, which are limited. $75 total class fee. • Thursdays in October: Music at the Gazebo on the 2nd level of Cherokee Village Town Center. Bring your family, friends, and chairs to enjoy a variety of country, gospel & pop music. Oct. 6 features Doug & Mitch, Oct. 13 features Seven Hollows, Oct. 20 features Osage Water, Oct. 27 features McMickle Brothers. Free but donations are appreciated.
• First Saturday of the month, 10 a .m. noon: A professional teaches developmental writing skills through various projects. Call or text Cheri 870-710-1392.
• Second Saturday of the month, 10 a.m.-noon: Artists teach fun techniques for creating various types of artworks.
• Every third Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon: Photography enthusiasts meet to discuss techniques and show their beautiful photos. Beginners’ welcome. Call or text Keith at 870-283-1037.
• Every fourth Saturday from 10 a.m.-noon: Sewing experts teach basic to advanced skills with various projects. Call Charlotte or Eli at 530-210-5414.
• Mondays and Fridays, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Ceramics Studio – wheel & hand building: An ongoing ceramics studio for beginners through advanced skill levels. $20 weekly, $65 monthly. Call Ken at 702-426-0362.
