$3.23 MILLION – Sharp County graduates rack up scholarship funds

Sharp County’s Class of 2023 accepted a record $3.23 million in scholarships. Seniors at Highland collectively accepted $1,479,700. Seniors at Cave City are headed off to colleges and universities across the nation with $1,754,790 to help pay for their educations. The top five scholarship awards at Cave City went to Kaylee Leddy ($99,300), Ally McFarlin($84,000), Keelee Lyons ($82,500), Regan Counts ($80,400)and Madelynn Fore($79,000). These ladies collectively racked up nearly$350,000 or twenty percent of Cave City’s class total in scholarships. This year, Cave City had the largest number of Governor’s Distinguished Scholarship winners of any school of the same size. Winners of the prestigious $40,000scholarship include: Ally McFarlin, Kaylee Leddy, Will Jones, Reagan Counts and Colton Vinson. The following award amounts were given to graduates at Cave City. Highland’s number was submitted cumulatively. Shay Acklin accepted a total of $18,000 in scholar-ships. These include a $4,000 for the University of Arkansas Community College in Batesville for the Academic Distinction Scholarship as well as a $14,000 Academic Challenge scholarship. Noah Aguliar accepted a total of$18,000 in scholarships. These include a $4,000 for the University of Arkansas Community College in Batesville for the Academic Distinction Scholarship as well as a $14,000 Academic Challenge scholarship. Jimmy Alexander accepted a total of$18,000 in scholar-ships.

Kaylin Allen accepted a $500 Johnnie Whitten scholarship. Constance Althof accepted a total of$18,000 in scholar-ships. Kaden Ayers accepted a total of$18,250 in scholarships. These include a $250 Cave City Academic Achievement Scholarship, $4,000for the University of Arkansas Community College in Batesville for the Academic Distinction Scholarship as well as a $14,000Academic Challenge scholarship. Zitlalli Benavides accepted a total of$17,000 in scholar-ships. These include a $3,000 Ozarka Regional Scholarship and a $14,000 Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship. Joslynn Bunch accepted a total of$19,000 in scholar-ships. These include a $5,000 for the University of Arkansas Community College in Batesville for the Academic Excellence Scholarship as well as a $14,000 Academic Challenge scholarship. Seth Burrier accepted a total of$19,000 in scholar-ships. These include a $5,000 for the University of Arkansas Community College in Batesville for the Academic Excellence Scholarship as well as a $14,000 Academic Challenge scholarship. Tanner Cahall accepted a total of$18,900 in scholar-ships. These included a $400 ICC Tournament Scholarship; a$500 Wendell Safely scholarship, a $4,000for the University of Arkansas Community College in Batesville for the Academic Distinction Scholarship as well as a $14,000Academic Challenge scholarship. Walker Cannon accepted a total of$55,700 in scholarship funds. These include, a $500 Cave City Kiwanis Scholarship, a $500 Batesville Rotary Club Scholarship, Shane Stauffer Laptop Scholarship for $700, a $14,000Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholar-ship and a $40,000Arkansas State University Chancellor’s Scholarship. Cody Chappell accepted a total of$21,240 in scholar-ships. These included a $1,000 scholarship, a $6,240 Ozarka Academic Excellence Scholarship and a$14,000 Arkansas Academic Challenge scholarship. Farah Comia accepted a total of $18,000 in scholar-ships. These include a$4,000 University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville Academic Distinction Scholarship and a $14,000 Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship. Tyler Cooper accepted a total of$20,250 in scholarships. These include a $250- Cave City Academic Achievement Scholarship, a$6,000University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville Chancellor’s Scholarship and a $14,000Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholar-ship. Regan Counts accepted a total of$80,400 in scholar-ships. These include a $400 ICC Tournament Scholarship, a $40,000 Arkansas State University Chancellor’s Scholarship and a $40,000Arkansas Governor’s Scholarship. Parker Davis accepted at total of$14,250 in scholarships. These included a $250 Cave City Academic Achievement Scholarship and a$14,000 Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship. Aubree Debaun accepted a $500 Johnnie Whitten Scholarship. Tesaray Duncan accepted $46,500 in scholarships. These include a $500 Cave City Academic Leadership Scholarship, a $14,000 Arkansas Academic Challenge Scholarship and a $32,000 Arkansas State University Leader Scholarship. Olivia Foley accepted a total of$18,000 in scholarships.
