At January’s Highland  school board meeting, Arkansas School Board Appreciation Month was observed with special guests from Cherokee Elementary and Highland Middle School.

Students and staff showed their gratitude by “adopting a school board hero” and presenting them with heartfelt thank-you cards, homemade treats, and thoughtful tokens of appreciation. These gestures reflect how much their dedication and service mean to our school community.

School board members play a critical role in shaping the future of our schools. Their tireless commitment ensures that students receive the best education possible, and their decisions help support our staff, programs, and goals district-wide.

Two members of the Highland School Board received recognitions during the meeting.

The ASBA (Arkansas School Board Assication) awarded them the following:

Designation as an “Outstanding Board” with all members achieving an individual Certificate of Boardsmanship

Johnny Carter was   named a Master Board Member for completing at least fifty hours of board training.

During the week the school board members toured all the Highland campuses.
