We have so many fun Easter events going on. I have added several since our newspaper published. They are all listed below to allow you, our readers plenty of time to decide which events you plan to attend. Happy Easter weekend from the Spring River Chronicle l

Fri. April 18

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny-

North Heights Church of Christ in Batesville will host a for a fun-filled morning with the Easter Bunny on April 19 at 9 a.m. A delicious Pancake Breakfast will get the event going. Children can also express their creativity with a coloring ontest followed by an Easter egg hunt for kids of all ages. There will also be photos with the Easter Bunny at this free event.  

North Heights church of Christ is located at 200 Warrior Road in Batesville. 

Easter Egg Hunt and Movie on the Hill-

Southfork Living and Therapy in Salem will host an evening Easter egg hunt and movie on the hill featuring the movie, ‘HOP’. Admission is free, and the Easter Bunny will be there for pictures. Candy and toy prizes will be hidden in eggs, and kids can redeem their tickets for rewards after the hunt. There will also be face painting and small games for kids to enjoy. The hunt begins at 6 p.m. on April 18, and is open to ages 0-12. Age groups for the hunt are 0-3, 4-7, and 8-12. 

Southfork Living and Therapy is located at 624 Highway 62/412 East in Salem, Ark.

Flash Light Easter Egg Hunt-

Highland Hills Baptist Church will host a flashlight Easter egg hunt on Fril April 18. The free community event will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the church, located at 2021 US Highway 62 in Highland. Egg hunters twelve and under are asked to bring their own flashlights to the hunt.

Sat. April 19

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny-

Bailey’s Family Restaurant in Cave City will host a fun breakfast with the Easter Bunny from 8 -9:30 a.m. at their restaurant located at 207 South Main Street in Cave City. The Bailey’s will be serving up bacon or sausage biscuits and kids will eat free. Hop on over and have breakfast and get your picture taken with the Easter Bunny,

The Way of the Cross- 

An outdoor walk through Easter drama will illustrate stories of the life of Christ. The event will be held at the Cherokee Village Baptist Church, located at 6 Iroquois Drive. 

There will be showings at 1, 2 and 3 p.m.

Cave City Easter Run –

This 1/2 marathon, 10k, 5k, or Virtual will have a distance for everyone. All races start and finish at Cave City Park. The race begins at 9 a.m. OK Plus Timing Service will be there to provide chip timing.

The first 3/4 mile is pavement before it turns to a roller coaster of scenic gravel roads. The 5k and 10k are out-and-back routes. The 1/2 marathon goes out, and you will do a “lollipop” style out and back. Aid stations will be along the course. This course is difficult and challenging with rolling hills.

There will be unique finisher awards and Top Three Male/Female awards will be given for each race. Post-race snacks will be provided for participants at the finish line.

All funds received through registration will cover race expenses and benefit the Cave City Police Department. With the support of race participants and local sponsors, for the last four years, Cave City Easter Run has donated $16,000 to the Cave City Police Department/

Evening Shade Community Easter Egg Hunt-

The event will be held Sat. April 19 from 10 a.m. until noon at the Evening Shade Walking Track. There will be four age groups for children up to sixth grade. Two prize eggs will be hidden for each group. A free hot dog lunch will follow the egg hunt. The event is sponsored by the Evening Shade Ministerial Alliance and the Evening Shade VFW Auxiliary.

Community Easter Egg Hunt-

The hunt will be held April 19 at 2 p.m. at the Mammoth Spring State Park. There will be three age groups for the hunt, 1-3. 4-7 and 8-11. There will be prize eggs in every group. The event is sponsored by the Spring River Lions Club and the Mammoth Spring State Park.

Highland Elks Lodge #2539 Easter Egg Hunt

The Elks will host their Annual Easter Egg Hunt on Sat. April 19 at 11 a.m. The event will be held at the Tohi Nature Trail on Hospital Drive in Cherokee Village. Childern 12 and under are invited to hop on over. 

Easter Eggstravaganza!

Batesville First Assembly of God is doing something totally different and new this year, so you’ll want to be sure and make plans to be there. Bring your kids and their friends – they’ll leave with candy and prizes, and most importantly, they’ll know the true story of Jesus’ Resurrection. The event begins at 9 a.m. The church is located at 1949 Lyon Street in Batesville, Ark.

Sunday, April 20

Cherokee Village Fire Department Easter Egg Hunt-

The Cherokee Village Fire Department will host their Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Baseheart Station. The egg hunt will begin at 2 p.m. sharp for children 12 and under. 7-12-year-olds will gather next to the open field on the west side of Baseheart Road, and little ones aged six and under will find their eggs hidden throughout the area surrounding the Fire Department‘s pavilion. In addition to cash prizes hidden in some of the eggs, there will be photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny. The Cherokee Village main station is located at 1 Baseheart Road.

Highland Assembly Events

The Highland Assembly will begin their Easter celebration with a pancake breakfast at 9 a.m. until 10:05 a.m. Easter Egg hunts will begin at 10:05 a.m, followed by a 10:30 worship and message by Alan Womack.
