Ozark Foothills Literacy projects to host tutor training workshops

The Ozark Foothills Literacy Project will host a training workshop for new tutors on Oct. 13 from 1:30-3 p.m. at their office located at 184 N. 5th St. in Batesville on the corner of Water and 5th. No experience is necessary. Anyone over the age of 18 is welcome to volunteer.

The Project serves Fulton, Sharp, Izard, Independence, and Stone counties in north central Arkansas where 1 in 5 adults read below a third grade level. These adults will struggle with basic tasks like applying for jobs, reading prescription labels, and helping their children with homework.
This training is free and open to the public. All materials will be provided. To learn more, please call or text Morgan at 870-834-2810.
