Strawberry River Chapter DAR met Saturday, October 1, 2022. Regent Jan Lusk called the meeting to order with 16 members and a prospective member in attendance. Following the opening ritual and approval of minutes and the treasurer’s report, projects for Service to America, Literacy Promotion, Women’s Issues, and Veterans were discussed.
October 13 being the 43 Anniversary of Strawberry River Chapter, Chaplain Clara Ballard led members in a devotional to honor the patriots of our members. We give thanks for the dedication of our many patriots and their service to our country.
Cynthia Clow-Elliott presented information about the U. S. Navy’s formation. The United States Navy claims October 13, 1775, as the date of its official establishment, when the Second Continental Congress passed a resolution creating the Continental Navy. Happy Birthday greetings to the U.S. Navy.
Chaplain Ballard and Regent Lusk installed Amber Jines and Kathy Carter as the newest chapter members.
Strawberry River Chapter is proud to be added to the list of sponsors for Wreaths Across America. We support Mountain Home Cemetery, Mountain Home, AR and invite everyone to sponsor a wreath for as little as $15. Mountain Home Cemetery is the final resting place for 350 Veterans and your donation will go towards a fresh balsam Veteran’s wreath which will be placed on the headstone of an American hero.
To donate a wreath to WAA, contact Cynthia Clow-Elliott at 870-750-0874 or copy this link in your browser. www.wreathsacrossamerica.org/pages/172461
