Over $212,000 worth of farm equipment was reported stolen in Sharp County on Aug. 7. A Kubota tractor, hay rake, John Deere 5100 E tractor, and John Deere 460 Hay bailer were stolen from Sharp County resident Doyan Huckabee. 

The Kubota tractor and hay rake were recovered in a wooded area near Strawberry on Aug. 8, but the John Deere 5100E Tractor and John Deere Hay Baler were not.

The Sharp County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division initiated an investigation. They also posted information on social media requesting the public’s assistance in locating these items and asking for any information about the identity of the person or persons responsible for the thefts.

On August 12, the remaining items were also located and recovered in woods in the Strawberry area. The investigation is ongoing, and arrests of those responsible for the crimes are imminent. 

Sheriff Shane Russell thanked Arkansas Agricultural Law Enforcement Division Special Agents Lancaster and Booth and special agents with the Third Judicial Drug Task Force for their time and resources. These agencies were instrumental in locating the stolen items.
