Strawberry River Chapter DAR met Sat., Jan. 4 with 13 members in attendance via a zoom meeting.  

Following the opening ritual, Chapter Regent Margo Lusk reminded members to check their calendar regarding our spring calendar of events. Chapter Registrar Cynthia Clow-Elliott presented updated information regarding modifications to new member applications.

The following committee reports were presented: Volunteer Service Hours- chapter members volunteered over 5,000 community service hours during 2024, Wreaths Across America-SRC donated and placed 90 wreaths for Veterans in the Mountain Home Cemetery in December, and Women’s Issues-plans were discussed for Valentine’s Day treat bags which will be packed and delivered in February to those residents of the six area nursing/rehab centers within our tri-county area.

A very informative program was presented by member Terri May who works with the Master Naturalist Program serving northcentral Arkansas.

SRC works to fulfill the three objectives of DAR which are Education, Historic Preservation, and Patriotism as established in 1890 by our founding members.
